Leading the Way in Purpose-Built Off-Road Performance

It's much more than just rugged looks that sets the Jeep Wrangler apart as a world-beating off-road machine. From top to bottom, inside and out, it's designed to bring all-terrain fun to those who seek it.

It starts with construction and design. Every Wrangler is built on a fully-boxed, body-on-frame design -- an old and trusted tactic for off-road durability. Look underneath the Wrangler and you'll find two solid axles. You may also notice that the Wrangler sits up high off the ground. That's because it's designed to deliver superior ground clearance, approach angles, departure angles, and more.

So, the Wrangler has all the tools needed for excellent off-road performance. Add in a robust four-wheel drive system and you're ready to head out to your favorite trail. The Selec-Trac four-wheel drive system gives you the option to drive full-time mode, which can activate four-wheel drive automatically. The available Selec-Trac system is a more robust option with low range setting for rock climbing. Finally, the Rock-Trac system is standard on the Rubicon and offers upgraded transfers cases, sway bar disconnect, and more.

Now, you'll need a strong engine to pull you through challenging obstacles. Luckily, the new Wrangler offers two. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Newly available is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine making 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on all models, while an eight-speed automatic is optional.

Enjoy the New Wrangler, Top On or Off

The new Wrangler is styled and designed for driver enjoyment. Whether you're cruising through town or traversing mud and snow, the Wrangler knows how to help you have fun.

The newest generation keeps all of the classic Wrangler styling cues: the seven-slot grille, the boxy shape, the circular headlights. However, subtle tweaks across the board help the new Wrangler fit in with the modern automotive crowd.

Part of the Wrangler's appeal is its two available body styles. The two-door model is inspired by the original Jeep CJ. If you need more cargo space or room for five passengers, you can opt for the larger four-door model.

You can also choose between a soft or hard top option. The soft top offers the classic Wrangler experience with fast, easy removal. However, the hard-top option is often popular with drivers who deal with winter weather. It takes longer to remove, but you'll get extra insulation and reduced road noise. Whichever you choose, you'll be able to take the top and doors off or your Wrangler for a wide-open driving experience.

Inside the cabin, you may be surprised at the diversity of features you find. Dual-zone automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment display with Uconnect, and soft-touch leather trim pieces are all available. Despite its rugged design, the Wrangler has some excellent creature comforts available.

Feel Confident with Smart Protection

The new Wrangler may offer old-school design and appeal, but it takes modern safety expectations seriously. That's evident with its available active safety systems.

Blind Spot Monitoring: This system keeps an eye on low-visibility areas. If a vehicle is detected in your blind spot, you'll get a warning light on the corresponding side mirror.

Rear Cross Path Detection: This system will alert you to vehicles crossing behind your Wrangler while you're backing up.

ParkSense Rear Park Assist: This feature helps you squeeze into parking spots by sounding an alert any time you're in close proximity to another vehicle.

Jeep Wrangler Trim Levels

  • The Wrangler Sport is a simple, stripped-down option with cloth seats, black wheels, and Selec-Trac Four-Wheel Drive.
  • The Wrangler Sport S is similarly simple, but it adds Uconnect, 17-inch wheels, and more.
  • Wrangler Sahara is the only model with a body-color hard top and fenders. On the inside, it offers a more premium experience with upscale upholstery and trim materials.
  • Wrangler Rubicon is designed for ultimate off-road capability. It comes with all a broad range of trail-ready features like tow hooks and 33-inch tires, plus distinct Rubicon decals and more.
