Michigan winter is near its end -- that means it's time to take stock of your personal vehicle and take care of seasonal maintenance. We here at Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Farmington Hills can help you with repairs and maintenance so your car is ready for spring.

  • Get an oil change. Oil changes are recommended about once every season, so the start of spring is a perfect time to schedule another one.
  • Check your tires. Winter road conditions like potholes, ice, road salt, and sheer cold can have caustic effects on tires. We recommend having your tires inspected to make sure they're still road worthy or if you may need other services like a rotation, alignment, or pressure correction.
  • Top off your washer fluid. Most drivers spend the winter months intermittently spraying their windshields to help remove snow, mud, and salt. By the end of the season, the reservoir is often near empty and ready for filling.
  • Check your battery. The extreme cold of Michigan winters can cause your battery to wear out faster than you may expect. It's a smart call to have your technician conduct a battery test as we head into spring. If necessary, we can install a new battery that has plenty of charge for your springtime driving.
  • Wash your vehicle. Dirt, mud, salt, and sand can get caked onto the exterior of Michigan vehicles during winter. If left unchecked, this can damage your car's paint. That's why we recommend getting your car cleaned for spring. We can even add a coat of wax to make sure your paint shines.
